    right guys so i bought a msi gt660 at christmas in america and it had been working fine for about 5 months till i snapped off the top of the charger seeing as i was living in ireland i could only get a replacment charger that wasnt made by msi it worked perfect for about a month until one day the charger stopped working the green light was on on it but when i pluged it into the laptop the green light started flashing and u could barly see it so i taught something was wrong with the charger so i sen it back and got a new one but the same problem is happening with the new one any help would greatly be appreciated guys thanks

    What were the specs of the replacment charger?

    That sounds like the following may have happened.
    The 1st replacement charger was not the correct specification and was too low wattage & amperage. The laptop pulled up to twice as much wattage and power than what the charger was rated for, which would cause it to malfunction, making the 19v fluctuate randomly.

    While too much amperage & wattage itself cannot directly damage the laptop because it will only draw what is needed, voltages over 24v and under 16v could completely destroy your motherboard.

    I believe the adapter needs to be 120w. At 19v this is 6.3a. The nearer you replacement adapter is to 3a, the more likely it is that this has happened.
