I have been having a lot of problems with this laptop since I moved from Australia to the UK with it. The original power supply died about a year ago and I bought a replacement while I was here which burnt itself into the adapter socket. So i had the socket replaced and (after going through 3-4 wrong adapters) finally ended up with a Universal power supply & a new adapter pin from an acer (i think?) ..

Now the computer has started crashing after about 3-4 minutes into any games but ONLY while the power cord is connected. On battery power I can play until it goes flat without any issues.

It has been causing a "driver has stopped responding and been recovered" error, after lag and a graphics explosion.

I have checked for overheating, cleaned out the inside of the laptop, tried the beta 4850 drivers, old msi drivers and the current stable ati drivers for the card. I have also tried a whole assortment of power options from underclocking, overclocking to running on turbo battery mode etc.

If anyone could shed some light on what the problem may be, or suggest an idea of other ways to troubleshoot it. It would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
