    Power limit in the bios

    Hi friends
    I've overclocked my cpu to 4.0Ghz
    and some times my laptop crashes during games
    And i want to know if the Power Limit in the bios have any effect in it or not ?
    And BTW what is the maximum Power limit ?
    mine for both max and min is 230

    my laptop is MSI GT83VR 6RE
    I7-6820HK
    GTX 1070 SLI
    16 GB RAM 2400MHZ

    Power limit usually causes throttling rather than a crash. Try increasing your voltage slightly (5-10mv or so).

    You mean the Cpu Core Voltage inside of the bios ?
    it's 0 now should i try and change it to 5 ?

    Yes.
    I imagine that is a 5mv overvolt, so that give it a try.

    OK tried this using Throttlestop no luck at all
    But i noticed when playing on battery no problem at all....
    Also when playing on high resolution say 4K problem gone (my normal is 1080p)
    So im assuming my laptop receiving more power than it need ?

    I expect you adjusted voltage equal for both Core and Cashe in ThrottleStop.
