Solution:
1. Spend $5 on Start8
2. Enjoy an OS that's better than Win 7.Jzyftw likes this. -
My solution: Spend 0$ by downloading Classic Shell Classic Shell - Start menu and other Windows enhancements

I second Classic Shell, have been using it since I got my Windows 8 computer.
Do you just not like the Metro interface? If you press the Windows key and D at the same time it will take you to a regular desktop you'll be used to.Jzyftw likes this. -
StartIsBack is a great tool as well. It mostly gets rid of the crappy Win 8.1 "modern" Metro interface.

Honestly with windows 8.1 and launching into desktop, you rarely use metro at all and you dont need to install any software to emulate the menu.
But if you can't live without the menu, sure, most suggestions here do work wonders and I have used them myself too. -
On the whole I find this not to be true. Win8.1 is the superior platform.
But, if you have a particular program with compatibility issues then I can see your frustration. -
This may seem obvious, but nobody told me at the time.. That right clicking the Windows icon brings up some very handy shortcuts and traditional shut down options.

OMG i am so screwed up now after installing Win 7 in my laptop I got big problems
It stucked in "preparing for the first time" for hours
What I did were
