For you owners of the GX620 or MSI 1651 barebones, can we get some more videos/pictures of these, preferably
1) Relative Size, put a ruler and or another common laptop/object beside it to give us sense of depth/thickness/length
2) Powerbrick pics
3) Underside pictures
4) Screen

I have a bunch of pictures in my other thread, with a ruler to the battery. Can't take any more pics for now as I can't find my camera..
It's thin and light (at least IMO) though. Not nearly as thick as I expected
The Inspiron 6000/6400 at its taller point is thicker than the MSI-1651 WSXGA+ barebone at its thickest point, and that's saying something beceause the MSI has tall feet -
my camera got stolen along with my laptop and replacing the camera is a low priority right now
sorry -

I don't think the power brick is that small >_< not huge, but not small either. Friend's XPS M1330 pwoer brick is tiny!
-
what are the dimensions on the powerbrick?
-
is there a reason why you guys chose the 1651 over the GX620? Was it the colour/design?
-
It's cheaper to set up the barebone than the $1299 from E-bay. Just go to rkcomputer.net and customize from there. MSI 1651 also has the option fo 3 year warranty to those who want it, as well as options to change specs -
i'm also from Canada, how much did you end up paying for your setup?

A little less than $1600 taxed + shipped (NCIX - 4GB OCZ RAM and 250GB 7200.3). Gonna get a tax rebate though
The one on ebay would cost 1300 x 1.13 + 80 (ship) = 1550ish. For under $50, I get a better processor (P9500), a silver trim (I like it better. Subjective. GX620 would look better than barebone IF they had a silver trim) and a better hard drive (250gb 7200.3).
However, I spent some time researching for the drive (SSD vs 250gb 7200.3 - Fastest HDD), which really wasted my time. I suppose I also spent about 20 minutes putting it in... The hard drive wouldn't budge for a while. Dropped it down and pushed, but it just wouldn't move. After a hard push, it finally went in. Needs a fair bit of pressure unlike my Dell which just slides right in. But hey, I don't value my time XD -
from your pics, it looks like you purchased from Xoticpc. Does the $1600 include the HDD you bought afterwards?
I could order the 1651 stateside or I can get the GX620 in Toronto for $1400*1.13 tax. -
$1600 includes everything.
I got student + cash discount from XoticPC -
Yup, that pretty much sums it up. -
do you have a picture of the bottom of the laptop?? i really interested in this notebook because i will be buying it for my cousin..
