Will the MS-1719 support the Penryn line of CPUs? Has anyone tried them in this model?

    TIA,

You don't need any hardware upgrade to be able to run Penryn CPU on Santa Rosa system...BIOS upgrade is needed tho... So, check out on manufacturer website, probably they have updated BIOS with Penryn support....

Thank you for the quick response. I checked on MSI's website, and while they do have a recent BIOS update, they do not provide a README, so there is no telling what the update does.

Then just email to support.....they should tell you if Penryn is supported...or at least provide "readme" on BIOS update.

50% sure though. Not all mobo with chip 965 can run this processors.

Later production of the laptop manufacturer might updated with better revision board that support penryn .
