I got a popup while playing Starcraft 2 on my stock MSI GT780DXR-279US (16GB RAM)

saying my paging file memory is low and it is going to lower my graphics level.

anyways, i went and checked and adjusted my paging file for my C: to min 512MB and max 24541MB....I havent had any problems, since....but from what I read online some people have totally turned page filing off and increased performance.

My question is there a best setting to have this at(min/max) or turn it off completely.

I pretty much only game, surf or rework papers or resumes...nothing else.

    what do u recommend?

If you are unsure then let windows manage it.

i originally had windows operating it, and thats when it was giving me low paging file memory...and downgrading my graphics. it seemed like windows was doing a pisspoor job at it if it cant even handle startcraft graphics.

Be aware that it will steal as much of your HDD, but double your ram amount should be fine then.

with 6GB of RAM I turned paging off. You have 16GB... On the other hand why can't you just use fraps or smth else to test it with and without paging file??

congrats. But frankly I have just recalled that instead of complete shutting of Paging file on HDD I set it to 50MB because some old program didn't want to work with no paging file at all. Set minimum and maximum amounts to 50MB or even less if you want to feel safer.
