when you guys overclock do you just look at the default temperature sensor?

my default temp sensor's maximum temps (910/1050 1.15v) is 86C with furmark.

but my mem (io) sensor (hwinfo) says temperature is at 96C

is this a safe overclock? or should i drop back down to 700core and 1k mem? or maybe drop voltage?

I tend to see all temp readings and memory is the highest. That being said, I think you should scale down the clocks a bit. 96C is a bit high, considering I dont even reach 90 with 1070 memory clocks.

I tend to use 860/1060 for gaming, because 900ish is not stable and while it might work 4 hours straight, it might just go crash the next 10 seconds I open a new game.

I try to aim 80C as my temp, with a max of around 86C when oveclocked and gaming for hours.

    MSI Afterburner, GPU-z and HWMonitor.

GPU-z is the only one that shows me all temps instead of just one.
