Hey guys, so I odered the Tornado F5 from Eurocom just a few days ago and it's in production atm. I just can't get pass that 20% student discount and the free unlocked bios! I know hidevolution has them too and probably for the same spec as my laptop but total difference is probably 800$ CAD apart and global warranty is another 200$. Hence, I ordered from Eurocom and I believe they won't let me down!

    Spec for Eurocom Tornado F5;

    Display : 15.6 inch; 120hz FHD 1920x1080 no G-sync
    Graphics card : Gtx 1080 8gb GDDR5X
    Processor / CPU : Intel I7 7700k
    Memory ( Ram) : Kingston HyperX 1 x 8GB
Drives : Hitachi Travelstar 1tb 7200RPM hard drive
Wireless LAN : Intel Wireless AC 8265 WLAN + bluetooth
    Ac Adapter : 330W

So the first things I'll do are upgrade my rams, and put a Samsung 960 Evo 500Gb in it with Window 10 Home. I'm a complete 'newb' in computing. I didn't know what are benchmarks nor the fact that we can delid/undervolt a cpu until recently when I start reading the 16L13/Tornado F5 owner's lounge ( yeah, I read the whole thing ). So if it's possible, I might need some assistances in tunning my laptop ! Thanks first for the help.

    - What are the few major benchmark app I'll need to test the whole computer? I plan on deliding/re-pasting after I get the results from the initial benchmarks ( just to see how bad/good the job was done =P )

    - How do I undervolt and overclock? I know people usually use XTU or TS but I have no idea what are the tick boxes and the settings for. Little idiot quesiton, why do people overclock to get that few more frame per seconds even tho they knew it'll kill the laptop faster? Does underclock gives more lifespam?

    - Is it possible to overclock the gpu aswell?

    - Any recommanded app to download on the laptop?

May need to ask more questions later on when I get my laptop but for now, that's it. People might think I'm stupid for buying such a beast without knowing how to tame it, but I believe I can grow with it. I want to experience the thrill of an enthusiastic buyer. I usually game a lot and I believe this laptop will deliver. Thanks again for reading and for the help!

Since when has it been a 20% student discount?

Nice config OP. Don't expect much overclocking with those specs they'll run pretty warm at stock because they're already so powerful.

Ever since last friday(ends on march 24th)! The free upgrade for the bios is also just valid last week, so I got free updraded bios and 20% discount. Pretty awesome right >=).

I never really expect to overclock a lot. I'll probably just get my cpu to 4.8ghz to or something. Cpu pretty good with high temps too so that's a plus

He said he plans on delidding his cpu. The general consensus seems to be a stable OC of 4.8-5.0 GHz on a standard 7700k with a slight undervolt. That seems worthwhile to me considering that many have complained about temps before delidding and the temps after with an OC and undervolt seem to be better than stock clocks.

Eurocom ran a 20% off sale for students back in Feb as well. So +1 for Eurocom. Technically I'm a student (I take night classes) but it didn't seem ethical for me and the spirit of whom the discount is meant to benefit. It's a good deal for actual students though.
