So I decided upon the MSI GT780R-012US from Newegg, it has everything I want with a price that will not send the wife crazy after all the computer purchases I have made this last year.

One thing I was reading that concerns me from the people who have bought it and reviewed it, is that MSI put a warranty void sticker on the bottom of the laptop so I can't upgrade my laptop's harddrives to an SSD.. does that even sound correct?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

It's been confirmed by the masses here that it doesn't void your warranty in the US. In other countries, apparently MSI is more strict, but I had that exact same question. I'm getting ready to install my new Crucial M4 as we speak :)

    Enjoy your purchase!

That is a huge relief... as I would hate to be tied down to regular hard drives.. :) Enjoy your M4 that is what I have and wanted to put in :)

Haha, you too. 31 minutes for the ISO file to finish downloading, and then it's off to install the USB flash drive utility, and install. Expecting a little bit more than the Transcend that comes in the GT783.

Yep, just finished my install as well. The M4 rates WEI as 7.9, blazing fast too. Very nice drive.

Honestly, I bet for his issue with the eject button not working he has the sbar software turned off, which I believe needs to be turn on to make it work...

I think he's referring to the one that called and talked to them, and said that they wouldn't honor the warranty if the sticker was removed or tampered with. But that is BS, when talking with all of the resellers on here, they've either stated that some of them don't even have the warranty stickers, and the others say that it's confirmed that MSI USA doesn't have a problem w/ upgrading HDs. As long as the "problem" with the laptop isn't done by damage installing or upgrading the laptop, then it'll be covered.

So I got the laptop MSI GT780R-012US and really love the system and the keyboard, however I would love to upgrade the dvd player/burner to a blu ray burner... any ideas where I can get one from?

    Thanks
