I wish companies would post up a notebook's real weight. Oh and have WXGA+ LED, but hey it's pretty good for a 14.1"!

Looks really nice. If I hadn't ordered a GT627 I probably would have gone with it. I like the red top with black inside more than the black with just a little red trim.

it says 256mb DDR3 in the specs, but it says 512mb DDR3 in the press release. So which one is it?

The 512MB won't be any better than the 256MB in almost all games due to the 128-bit limitation of the GT 130M.

Hmm... It seames like GT 130M is G94M core with little approvements. Newer production process gives it faster clock rates. But I saw something interesting about that - Memory speed is 1066MHz (according to Notebookcheck). This means that this card must use MXM III slot. I still don't know what is the common thing between the video memory and MXM slot, but I've read that MXM II slot has max memory bandwidth of 800MHz, MXM III - 1066MHz. If somebody can explain this to me ... and to all of us ...

It's rather difficult to compare the two directly -- the LG is a smaller 13" notebook while the MSI has a larger 14" chassis. It's amazing how hot that P310 is, so I can understand why they decide to move the CD drive out of it.

The P310 is supposed to run fairly cool according to owners in the LG lounge...

With the 130M GPU it should perform better than the P310 which has a 9600 GT, looks very nice and I hope we get a set date for launch.

It should compete well against the Asus N81Vp w/ it's HD 4650, though if it is GDDR3, the HD 4650 would probably edge out the GT 130M as HD 4650 > 9700M GT > GT 130M (according to specs).

Another competitor to this will be the soon-to-be released Y450, that'll have the GT 130, 512 DDR3

    Thanks!
Well I did some work today and E-mailed a bunch of MSI re-sellers about the Gx430 and all had the same answer.( Not exact words )
"We have NO information about the MSI Gx430 and NO idea when it's going to be released but please visit our website to see which new and exciting products are coming out soon."
So as far as I can tell it will be a few weeks/months before this laptop is released and that is not a good thing.
    But i have patience.NOT! ;)

I really doubt the USA market will get this laptop. MSI skipped over us for the GX400 and the GX420, so I am guessing it will be the same for this model. That is ok, I will probably just end up waiting for either te new Levono Y450 14.1 with the Nvidia 130M or the upcoming Zepto Nox A14 also with the Nvidia 130M. God Bless :)

    Well we could always hope!
I believe there is a good market out there for people that want a smaller laptop we could also game on.
Hopefully we will get some sort of a announcement for a US release.

I have also asked about the GX403 with the same results, stonewalled every time.
If anybody knows any re-sellers that carry it let us know

I have asked several retailers and all say that MSI does not plan on selling it here in the USA that they know of.

We asked MSI last week about the GX403, that model as of now will not be marketed in the USA.

    What the....
    Why MSI!WHY!
I just don't get it sometimes, why would a company produce such a potentially great laptop that US consumers want but not sell it.
Why limit yourself to a certain region when there are people all over the world willing to spend $$$ on your product.
I just don't get it
