Hello all, I am new to the Forum registered last night but have been reading for a while.

I am looking to replace my Toshiba M45-S265 as it has served the last few years for me well. I am looking to purchase something with a little bit of gaming power. I play mainly RTS games like C&C as well as ocassionly various titles from the Battlefield series.

Doing some research I think I want a 1680x1050 display, 4GB ram and a dedicated video card. I don't know that I need a Blu Ray drive as I already have a PS3 for that.

I would like to possibly hook this up to My 52" 120hz Samsung LCD (LN52A650) on occasion, or to a 26" Samsung LCD (LN26A450) in the Ice Fishing house.

For my purposes is it worth the extra $$$ to go from a 9600 graphics card to the 9800?

I have found a few GX620-098US models for under $1000

I was also looking at ASUS but they are large, heavy, and fugly. It also seems people are having more issues with those.

I think the MSI GX and GT series looks appealing and in myd desktop I have used MSI MOBO and Graphics card and have been overall satisfied.

I am open minded to consider other brands models as well. I am not sold on a certain price point although I prefer that $1000 range.

Does the GX620-098US have a 5400 or 7200 RMP HD?

Thanks for any insight as I couldn't find much on this particular model. Sorry if I sound like a newbie.

Small world that we were watching the same item. Seemed like a heck of a deal since I don't need Blu Ray and wanted a 1680x1050 screen. I do wish it had a 7200 rpm drive.
