So i am new to MSI (always had alienware) but i just bought a GE72 2QF Apache Pro, and iv noticed that when gaming (assassins creed syndicate) the battery slowly drains the entire time im playing. iv read that this is some type of "hybrid power" system. i was under the impression that this was old tech, and no longer being used in MSIs. if im incorrect, correct me please. anyway, if this is a normal feature, is there anyway to disable this, or can i get a better PSU to correct this, or are there any options to get rid of this feature at all. thanks.

It's still being used to provide more performance to the system, including the 6th generation platform.

As Keving mentioned, indeed it still happens with the latest machines. We would need users or resellers to test if a higher PSU can help the situation.

Even if you get a bigger PSU it will not help much because MSI uses this feature in all laptops with 150W and180W PSU.
I can confirm that even with 230W PSU on GT70 2PC Dominator when gaming the battery is drained a little bit.

To add, if the notebook is designed to take 180W AC adapter then it will always drain only at 180W, so if you have 230W the system will only take 180W but nothing more.
