Use GPU-z. If I remember correctly, the GX700 has the 8600M GT DDR2.

EDIT: Whoops, this is the GX630 thread. Then yes, the 9600M GT in it uses DDR3.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I am looking for a new laptop for gaming 90% of the time at home when I came across this particular model elsewhere. I am looking for something in this price range or maybe even slightly cheaper. The games that I play have been working fine on my ~7 year old desktop with GeForce 3, .5GB RAM, 1.4GHz CPU so clearly this computer would be an upgrade for me. The small keys on the right are probably going to bug me. Could I get around this by having a docking station at home? Are there other comperable laptops that I should consider?

I got use to the keyboard within a week, and I have an old USB keyboard that I use when I plug into the hdtv (hdmi) and surround sound theater. The issue most don't like is the keyboard flex, but they have tips on that everywhere on the net...even on this forum if I remember right.

Yeah definately a good buy, and alot of msi laptops are upgradable too, screen res is perfect for its size also, might be worth getting another gig of ram in there but other then that, for the price this is very good :)

Also msi's great cooling leaves room for ocing.
