So I got my barebones 1039 and have a few questions:

    1. Is the black cable that has blue tape on it the aux cable that plugs in the aux spot in the mini pci card?

    2. What is that blue covered circle thing with some kind of tape on it? Do I need to hook it up to something?

    3. How can I make a badge like Coffeesharks? I just want a badge that says MSI.

I have been looking throughout the MSI website and cannot seem to find the answers to these questions. thank you all for your help.

If you have a digital camera, it would help a lot.

The blue circle thing you are referring to is the CMOS battery. It does not need to be plugged into anything...just shifted to the right from how it is taped down to allow you to attach the heatsink/fan.

In most MSI systems, it really doesn't matter much whether you use the black or gray wire as aux/main. However, I attach the black wire to main and signal strength is as it should be. The other black wire coming from the right is for the bluetooth connection if you are using the MSI MS-6855 combo card.

The badges that Coffeeshark and I use were made for us by MSI and such badges must be ordered in quantity.

They gave us both a substantial quantity so I would imagine Coffee has a lot left, just as I do.

I won't speak for Coffee but I would imagine that he would be of the same mind as me. Our badges are for use on systems built by our respective companies, systems whose assembly and testing we were responsible for...sorry :(
