Hi Y'all
Well I finally did it today. I pulled the trigger to buy a new gaming laptop to replace my MSI GE70(Pre-Apache) from my everyday gaming rig. I almost bought a GT 72 Dominator Pro G until I saw on Newegg where they had the GS70 Stealth Pro-096 Crimson Red edition on sale for $1899 and then a $100 mail-in rebate on it as well. Well I figured that it was worth the chance and the better deal for the money to buy it. I should be receiving this beast with the 3X 256GB ssd drives, 6GB GTX 970m, 16GB DDR3 Ram, 1 TB hdd etc. I am not only upgrading my gaming laptop with this purchase, but along with this new gaming laptop I'm getting an Everki Titan laptop backpack, the Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-band router to replace my failing Belkin AC750 router, a new Logitech G502 Proteus core gaming mouse and the G240 mousepad to go with it, and a Seagate 2TB hard drive to replace the 1 TB in the laptop. I can't wait to get a hold of this bad boy and see what it can do. For those of you who have the Crimson Red edition Stealth Pros do you find that the casing is a fingerprint magnet? From what I've read on the other posts in the forum it's generally a good idea to have a cooling pad for this beast, what cooling pad do you all use/recommend? Do you all have a particular model external optical drive that you all recommend? I would go for a Blu-ray writer if the price is right, but am looking to stick with a blu-ray reader/DVDRW combo drive type of deal. Thank you all for any assistance you all can provide to me on this. I'm looking forward to joining the ranks with y'all on Thursday!

The surface doesn't show fingerprints much. Wipe it down once in a while and you will be fine. For cooling I use a Targus X stand. No fans on it, therefore no extra noise or anything to fail on it. So far I haven't even missed the optical drive (thank you Steam). To install MS Office I linked to my desktop pc drive via the network.

Congrats on the new purchase! Sounds like you are getting quite the upgrade to everything across the board.
I don't think there are nearly as many fingerprints on it compared to the black versions. If you do get a cooler, just having one that elevates the computer a bit helps with airflow. But if you get one with cooling fans on it, make sure the fans are close to openings on the bottom of the computer, as they don't really help if it is blowing air just in to the bottom panel.
New MSI GS70 Stealth Pro Crimson Red Edition owner! Questions I have though...
