There is a tag over a screw in the bottom that says warranty void if removed. If I want to install a SSD or better network card will that void the warranty?

If you remove that sticker it will void the warranty. MSI started placing those stickers on their machines a while ago, much to the dismay of those who wish to upgrade.

Label on this screw is only for your info that "your pc had not been opened by 3rd party people after it leaved factory or service repair"
Even MSI confirmed that on their website. So NO WORRIES ! -
Can you post a link to the info on MSI site please?

Plomba transportowa u MSI - Forum Notebookcheck.pl
What notebookcheck general coordinator says is:
""" Below you have official statement from MSI POLAND in case of changing your components in laptops with "void Label sticker"
I Confirm. Warranty label sticker witch is on the bottom of MSI notebooks is as we called it "transportation label". It is reasurrance/warranty for our client, that nobody had looked into your laptop from the moment when it leaved the factory. Final users can change RAM and HDD's in MSI products without threat of loosing their warranty. Only mechanical damage, created by users that unskilfully try to change these parts will void your warranty.
Any doubts, please refer other users to this post."""
I also called to MSI, and heard the same thing.
