Just saw this on MSI Computer US facebook page

It looks like grills behind a notebook and it also looks thick like the GT series, so I wonder if this is the new GT series notebooks? Fingers crossed for MSI finally using twin fans on their GT series :)

The first thing they should look at is a good Power supply to their laptops.

Im absolutely satisfied (no matter how dirty that sounds) with my GT70. This thing was all I wanted off a gaming machine and more...
Still, it will be interesting to see what MSI cooked up for the next lineup.

Once you have tried Alienware and Asus you get to experience something MSI never had.
Great overclocking capabilities (Much bigger PSU) and superior cooling (dual fan, dual heatsinks).

GT70 have its pro`s over Alienware and Asus too, but the two points above is a deal breaker for many people

Hopefully MSI have listened and taken care of this with this upcoming notebook. New competitiors like Gigabyte and Aorus have recently stepped up, with 17" slim SLI notebooks, so MSI know they got to continue to innovate. Not just the GS series, which is so much better built than the GT believe it or not. GT is the one who needs a serious upgrade in design, which is why I feel there are good odds that this notebook teased is exactly that :)

Nobody knows. MSI are showcasing the regular GT series down at Computex too, so I`m not even sure this is part of the GT.

Well we don`t know if this notebook comes as 15" as well. Could just be 17" or maybe its a 18". So exciting :)

I agree. But it depends a bit on what hardware it features. Pretty sure this will have the highest end hardware so price will be on the high side. Hopefully not much more than the $2k GT70 cost.

And the LED-lights around the notebook :p
Other than that, its different though. The fan holes are different, the top lid is different, the mousepad is different. I guess there are not so many ways to design a dual fan without going beyond what already well established designs use.

If it is the GT series, yes maybe. But who knows, this could be a new series. Or maybe a 18" SLI notebook. Many possibilities here. :)

It would be so awesome if this was a 17 or 18" notebook with dual graphic cards yes. The new M295X in CF or maybe 880M in SLI :D

Not sure about the time when they will have the presentation. All they say is

"Designed to inspire and turn heads.

The unveiling begins at Computex 2014, 6/3."

We will know plenty of details tomorrow for sure.

Hoping that this is a chasis redesign. If they keep pricing around the current GT/GX models, they've got a sale from me, if it goes into the GS or inflated Alienware costs, I'm out.

However, if this is an 18" or SLI/CF model then I can understand the higher price tag... will see what tomorrow brings.

This is just an announcement with a pre-production mockup being shown. Release date is not set yet, but is expected to be late 2014 or early 2015.

It's the replacement for the GT70, the GT72. There's a little article on NotebookCheck already: MSI GT72

Was hoping for a refresh of the GS series, since I'm about to buy one. :p

Can't wait to see the first test and reviews, the cooling system looks like the Asus G series and with CoolerBoost even with two fans.

I have to say that the fan grills remind me to Clevo. I don't know if to like that..

Don't get me wrong I love the design. I only hope that they'll make a barebone whitebook model, without all those flashy lights or red grills.

Front speakers ala Alienware would have been nice too ;)

Actually the internals are slightly different, this is the first time the 17 inch gets an ips display (edp for the internal monitor) and the two display port and hdmi output configuration to support surround gaming.

Yes after many years my most desire wish seems to come true.

    A 17.3" IPS Matte gaming panel :D

I think this laptop is a step forward in many directions. Now I only hope that some day MSI could fit a 120Hz panel into these new GT72. Although MSI always respect Nvidia Optimus, and this last one is incompatible with 120Hz refresh rates, if I'm not wrong.

I was looking at the CPU/GPU as far as guts go :). Don't get me wrong the small details are a nice improvement, but was hoping for something a little more wow factor. If it is launching ~Oct towards end of the year, and that is a Maxwell GPU in there of the 70/80 caliber, then there is the wow factor.

Also watching that video, the GX series keeps the old chassis but does get the new FX-7600P, but still the R9-M290X, not the hoped R9-M295X.

The M290X will be a nice partner to the CPU, a faster GPU would just be overkill really.
