Just saw this on MSI Computer US facebook page
![]()
It looks like grills behind a notebook and it also looks thick like the GT series, so I wonder if this is the new GT series notebooks? Fingers crossed for MSI finally using twin fans on their GT series![]()

They have all the right parts to make an astounding system *fingers crossed*
-
The first thing they should look at is a good Power supply to their laptops.

will still be 180w?

Im absolutely satisfied (no matter how dirty that sounds) with my GT70. This thing was all I wanted off a gaming machine and more...
Still, it will be interesting to see what MSI cooked up for the next lineup. -
Once you have tried Alienware and Asus you get to experience something MSI never had.
Great overclocking capabilities (Much bigger PSU) and superior cooling (dual fan, dual heatsinks).
GT70 have its pro`s over Alienware and Asus too, but the two points above is a deal breaker for many people
Hopefully MSI have listened and taken care of this with this upcoming notebook. New competitiors like Gigabyte and Aorus have recently stepped up, with 17" slim SLI notebooks, so MSI know they got to continue to innovate. Not just the GS series, which is so much better built than the GT believe it or not. GT is the one who needs a serious upgrade in design, which is why I feel there are good odds that this notebook teased is exactly that -

The second picture I posted, the laptop looks thin.
-
Hmm, I was wrong. That picture is also from the same machine.
I agree that it looks thin, but the first picture in this thread looks thick.
hmmm -
Is there anything linking the pictures together? There could just be multiple machines being revealed?
-
That can be an option too I suppose. The pictures could be from several machines
-
We're just a few days from finding out. Maybe the thin one is an AMD version of the GS series, GSX?
-

I would be so pissed if it was a thin one cos I just bought the GS60.
-
Its not thin, you can see the bottom half in that pic and the red led is the top of the screen cover.

WOW I was originally going to buy an GT60/70 until the last minute I ordered an Asus G750JM last week from amazon. I got it saturday and I have 30 days to return it. Does anyone know when the new GT will be released?????
-
More information tomorrow. Thats when it will be revealed.
You should absolutely be prepared to perhaps return that Asus notebook.
Just look at it. Read the text.
Full aluminum too. So much to like -
Depending when it will be released I will be packing up this Asus and shipping back to amazon. Do you think it will be released anytime soon???
-
Oh.. I did not need to see this thread. Have had my GT60 2PC for just over a month and now this... Man!!
-
I want it... just hope that this isn't an arm & leg price tag system.
-

The design is so Alienware like with the pike nose.
-
-
An I7 and crossfire of M290X with a MSI price would really be nice..
-
Are these guys using taiwanese time or murrican?
also hope they properly price their new series in europe. 1200 eu for apache and 1500eu for 870m dominator? hahaha please. -
Other than that, its different though. The fan holes are different, the top lid is different, the mousepad is different. I guess there are not so many ways to design a dual fan without going beyond what already well established designs use.
"Designed to inspire and turn heads.
The unveiling begins at Computex 2014, 6/3."
We will know plenty of details tomorrow for sure. -
Hoping that this is a chasis redesign. If they keep pricing around the current GT/GX models, they've got a sale from me, if it goes into the GS or inflated Alienware costs, I'm out.
However, if this is an 18" or SLI/CF model then I can understand the higher price tag... will see what tomorrow brings.Cloudfire likes this. -
I hope the notebook have R9 M295X. It looks like its gonna be a beast

This is just an announcement with a pre-production mockup being shown. Release date is not set yet, but is expected to be late 2014 or early 2015.

This new GT72 looks amazing.
Can't wait to see the first test and reviews, the cooling system looks like the Asus G series and with CoolerBoost even with two fans.Cloudfire likes this. -
That's exactly what I think all the time about ASUS.

To summarize the article: new chassis, dual fans, same guts as the current GT70, higher price tag.
-
Wise words Meaker.
Here there a video of the GT72 only is in Thai.

Actually the internals are slightly different, this is the first time the 17 inch gets an ips display (edp for the internal monitor) and the two display port and hdmi output configuration to support surround gaming.
-
Yes after many years my most desire wish seems to come true.
A 17.3" IPS Matte gaming panel
I think this laptop is a step forward in many directions. Now I only hope that some day MSI could fit a 120Hz panel into these new GT72. Although MSI always respect Nvidia Optimus, and this last one is incompatible with 120Hz refresh rates, if I'm not wrong. -
The translation from the german site of Notebookcheck is wrong.
I just cheked notebookcheck.com and translated my self....... it comes with a 220W PSU!!!! -
I was looking at the CPU/GPU as far as guts go
. Don't get me wrong the small details are a nice improvement, but was hoping for something a little more wow factor. If it is launching ~Oct towards end of the year, and that is a Maxwell GPU in there of the 70/80 caliber, then there is the wow factor.
Also watching that video, the GX series keeps the old chassis but does get the new FX-7600P, but still the R9-M290X, not the hoped R9-M295X. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The M290X will be a nice partner to the CPU, a faster GPU would just be overkill really.
