I don't care much for the optional 300hz screen, but it looks so sleek I could cry.

    Things I hope for:
    - Mobile 2080 Super on the way?
    - larger battery = larger runtime
    - smaller fan fins = less noise

    Things to worry about:
    - Comet Lake will be too hot for relatively small performance bump?
    - Price...

I think it's sibling the GE66 Raider is going to be interesting too. Comet Lake may be a small jump from 9th Gen in terms of performance but anything older the difference will be significant IMO. I'd be tempted to upgrade my GE63 Raider 7th gen.

Agreed, price might be scary

God dammit, why did they have to release this one. If things turn out good I might get it but then again I might wait for a refresh of the RTX cards before getting another one. past 2 years I've gotten enough laptops GS73VR (1060), GS63VR(1070), GS65(2070), Razer Blade 15 Advanced(2070).

    That is a sexy laptop.

Biggest news about the GE66 is the inclusion of G-Sync. MSI finally did it.

I am disappointed that they got rid of the physical touchpad buttons, and it has a clickpad now. Enthusiast level gaming laptops should always have buttons imo, leave that clicker for the GS series.

G-sync and large battery on the GE series? Dang. That's exactly what I'm looking for.

I plan on keeping the GS65 as I've upgraded it quite a bit. LM, heatpads, NVME drives and memory. I just need better organization for my file structure as I got images and videos spanned across my razer 15 and the gs65

Also I like the GS65 more for portability so that's my go to travel laptop. To make it complete I'm trying to find a small travel charger but have yet to find one. Hopefully someone on kickstarter makes one using GaN tech so it could be super small and lightweight.

I hear ya, for the gs63vr i ended up paying for a razer 150w adapter cause it is so much smaller also its a bit more compacted than the new brick due to its shape at least on the gs63vr with 1060 it never gave me a problem, and so far no issues with gs65..i reckon the gs65 at max will odraw about 140-150watts but will eventually hit pl1 and draw less 30 minute combined stress test it will draw aroun 140 watts max i reckon accorindg to a kill a watt here is a side by side with the gs65 adapter it peaks higher at some points so i wouldnt use it for stress testing but for normal work use and gaming yes stress testing is a different animal

So torn if I should sell my gs65 and buy this one. I love the new design but was really hoping for more 4th gen ryzen based laptops. That asus G14 looks mighty nice.

I was in the same boat. Was considering the g14 or gs66. Prefer the form factor of the g14, but the screen apparently has response time issues, and there's a lack of information on whether the g14 has 8gb or 16gb soldered to the board (Asus claims it supports up to 32gb ram, so technically it should have 16gb soldered, but all the review units had 8gb). Decided to go with the gs66 instead for the faster screen, more long term upgradability (HD and RAM), rtx2060 vs 2060maxq in the g14, and larger battery (and hopefully long battery life).
