A question for the owners out there. I received my GT70 Dragon Edition today and there were scratches around the keyboard, there is a chip in the chrome around the camera, and the plastic is so scratched on the piece between the speakers that is around the power button that it looks like a piece of covering plastic is over it....has anyone received a laptop like this from MSI..I am just wondering if it worth returning.

Nope my GT70 is in perfect condition. If I were you I would have complained ASAP to the seller. If you wait he might question why you took so long.
I reckon you paid some extra $ for that Dragon look?

I am curious..... did you remove all the thin protective film covering around the keyboard and over the touchbar? It is very thin and difficult to find an edge to peel it up, but it's there, and will look like the surface is scratched. If you get this peeled up, the surface should look pristine. Also, this film covers over and around the webcam, and even covers the 'Steelseries' logo sticker.

    :)

My wife looked at it and commented that it is nowhere near as bad as I made it sound so I think I might just keep it...thanks for the help!

Haha, well if you find fault in it, it could very well be transit damage and not on MSI's end. They make sure to pack it securely, but it gets passed along through a few pairs of hands before it gets to you, so you never know what will happen while it's en route.

Hopefully the laptop works well though.

All the MSI notebooks look like what you described until you remove the thin plasic protective film that covers the parts.

    Striker described it perfectly.

With your finger nail placed in one of the corners of the touch bar, maybe near where it says P1,peel up an edge of the film and pull it off.

Just about every surface of the notebook is shipped with a protective film covering it;It's not damaged.

Don't forget the triangle shaped pieces on both sides of the camera.
