I was wondering if anyone can help me dig thru the eBay listings for Intel 5300 wifi cards and find one that will work for sure in an Ms-1651. I see all kinds of different ones, some say HP/IBM only, some say dell only and some don't say anything and I don't want to get the wrong card :(

even the half height ones will work with the included adapter from msi those are what im using and actually i like them better than the full length ones for some reason they give me better signal at a greater distance in the same notebook

what is the difference between the 5300 and the one built-in in the gt627 (I think it is 5100)?

Will I get any benefit for Internet (1Mb/s speed :( )?

Will it increase the signal when I go far from my wireless? How much difference?

Sorry for these nobby questions. I am new to wireless o_O

depends on the router and your setup. for normal use there will be no difference. if your router is capable of the dual bands and 450 of the 5300 than sure you will see a difference.

normal use they are both the same
