Thinking of buying a MSI GT70 variation, the fangbook, but I'm really not sure. I mean, they took away support for the 680m, for some reason. And also, the new generation processors will be coming out soon, no?
So if anyone can help me find a freaking good gaming laptop <$1500, that would be awesome. Or if I should wait for a bit for the new Haswell, and/or the new nvidia 700 series, I can do that too. I just don't want to be without a laptop for more than 2-3 months.

The one I'm looking at right now has. If there's anything I should add/change I'd love the feedback:

Can't think of anything under $1500USD that packs a 680M, although you can go maybe $1700 with a barebones.

I don't know where you live, but GenTech has the MS-1762 and MS-16F3 barebones for $1639 and $1539 respectively. You'd have to add something in the neighborhood of $100 for an OS license, though. You can contact the user GenTechPC on the forums. Ken's a sales rep and he can always talk to you about pricing.

And if you couldn't tell by my signature, I'm very happy with his service.

Awesome, Forge. Thanks. But is it worth it to go with the GTX 600 series with the 700 series being released so soon?

I'm a bit behind on the specifics of the 700 series, but if I remember correctly they're just going to be rebadges. They'll probably be slightly more powerful/efficient, but the same technology.

I think I'm just going to wait for it. I'm sure the newer motherboards would be better anyways, along with Haswell and the 7xx m series. Probably going to try for a 780M, which should last me a few years, I'm assuming.

That's really strange fangbook will no longer support 680m. I think they got a special deal on March 27, 680m just for 1350 if you take the $50 visa gift card into consideration, include everything.

Yeah, zyy, it is very curious. That's what changed my mind on buying a fangbook, because frankly, the 675mx is only 60-70% of the 680M performance, and the newer generations are being released also. So whatever. But I would love it if they updated a fangbook to haswell and 700m series!

I bought a 16F3 barebone with a 675mx, the actual model number was 937-16F336-053. and I first looked on ebay. The lowest price I could find on there was $950 for it. I seriously searched for a couple days and compared prices with shipping. I found anterespro to sell it the cheapest for like $55 cheaper here, well actually only $35 because on ebay it had free shipping on anterespro charged $20 for shipping. This site also has a 680m barebone for like $1,200.

I won't say its the best site because I first got a 937-16F336-025 and it didn't work, but I RMAd it and eventually got a full refund for the money a couple weeks later. Then I deiced to just pay around $100 more and got the 937-16F336-053 instead. I'd really look into just getting the same one I got the second time, because it's really really cheap and works really really well. Just buy a i73610qm on ebay (got mine for $180), a good hdd on ebay (got mine for $60, its a 500gb 7200rpm one) and some ram (got Elpida 8gb 1600mhz ram on ebay for like $38) and save at least $100 dollars compared to the barebone version from xoticpc, even more from the site you're about to buy from.
