I'd really like to try the newer drivers.
right now I don't even use the built in sound if Im gaming. I use my Sennheiser GSX-1000 I bought for $99 (a few years ago) after a pricing error they had to honor. If Nahimic 3 can provide decent 5.1 or 7.1 emulated surroundsound close in quality to the GSX-1000 I'll be happy. but I can't even get the 8509 realtek drivers installed. Something is making it think my hardware isn't supported. And it's nothing I did screwing around in the Bios either (since MSI's own files work as long as it is from NH2, even realtek's drivers on their own realtek homepage work!). -

@Falkentyne Here you go fellow brother, give these a try but please bare in mind these is for Windows 10 64bit driver just in case you installed Windows 7 or 8 i know that might be swearing so apologies for that in advance.
This is how i install the drivers for me after i have read the Inf Placement.txt file i made and placed the modded.inf files in the right place.
Code:1) Run setup.exe and allow the Realtek Audio Drivers to get uninstalled, it will then ask if you want to restart select no 2) Go to Start -> Power Icon then press and hold shift followed by clicking restart 3) This will bring a menu up select Troubleshooting > Advanced Options then select Startup Settings then finally click restart 4) On system rebooting it will give you some options just press 7 or F7 5) With Driver Signature Enforcer Disabled the the Realtek Audio driver setup.exe will autorun 6) Select Install Drivers on all pop ups that show up during install. 7) It will ask if you want to download Nahimic 3 from the Windows Store (If you don't want to go down that route PM me)
@felix3650 If you want to also try as well as you have the same laptop as Falkentyne please feel free to do so and follow the above steps.Attached Files:

The Nahimic 3 app from the MS Store is a UWP app [UWP = universal windows platform]
Nahimic 1.x & 2.x apps are desktop apps, which is different; again different structure between Nahimic 1.x/2.x and Nahimic 3.x.
Also when using Realtek UAD drivers on MSI laptops, one needs at least Windows 10 version 1803 (Redstone 4) for best Nahimic 3 support. Nahimic 3 might work with the 1709 (Redstone 3) version if recent cumulative updates for that version are applied but will definitely not work with any older version of Windows 10 before the 1709 release.
guys, please check if you are running Windows 10 v1709 (RS3) or v1803 (RS4) before attempting to install new Realtek audio drivers on those MSI laptops.hacktrix2006 likes this. -

For one, without Nahimic, some audio settings are simply unavailable, yet the same bloatware actually uses Realtek APIs for audio post-processing.
And with MSI: Why gimp the realtek HD audio driver you provide to the extent that without Nahimic, audio is basically unusable?
This was the case with my older MSI GS43VR 6RE. -
hacktrix2006 Hold My Vodka, I going to kill my GPU
That's why there is people like me whom takes a company's we can't do it because of XYZ and prove them wrong.
I was one of the original people whom contacted nahimic when nahimic 3 was first release showing that 6th series and there for 7th series MSI laptops would work with the UAD drivers even offered to help then test said drivers.
It was the same with the MXM upgrade mess MSI created. To me if a company says "no" I say challenge accepted. All it took with nahimic was 3 files to be edited to add device ID's and boom it all works.

Right, The latest Nahimic Realtek 6.0.1.8531 drivers are out, I have modded the drivers, as well as setuping up an self extracting executable which will run setup.exe after extracting to c:\Nahimic .
I will be looking for some testers with the following Device ID's
Code:VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_14621158 VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_1462115B VEN_10EC&DEV_0899&SUBSYS_14621180
So if your currently running Nahimic 2/2+ and are running Windows 10 build 1803 on wards please post your ID's in here, this way after each testing batch I can add new hardware id's to the driver mods.
For now testing will be done via PM where instructions can be given on how to install the modded drivers (This is to ensure consistency of successful installs) so if you fancy a punt at these drivers I will need the following in a pm
Code:MSI Model: Current OS Build: Dxdiag Hardware ID from Sound 1 Tab:

@Eflatun might be handy to have your device ID bud, this can be found under the Sound 1 Tab in dixdiag under Hardware ID.
-
sometimes DXDiag does not fully display the hardware ID of the Realtek audio device.
Get the hardware ID number of the Realtek audio device from Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) instead:
https://www.dell.com/support/articl...ivers-for-devices-using-a-hardware-id?lang=en
[expand the Sound, Video and Game controllers section of Device Manager and look for either "Realtek High Definition Audio" or "Realtek Audio"] -

@Bazgrim the links provided on Github are CHEF-KOCH's ,it was where i was getting them from however i do have a 6.0.1.8531 Installed on my system to which i modded and made into a Self-extracting installer. However i Will update the mod with your ID's in once you confirm what codec yours is yes ID is 14621158 but as was the codec i.e 899/892/662/1220 etc you didn't say.
All my links will be Mega links once i have started dishing out the modded version.
@asm1 your ID is already in the driver, however its not in the AVoluteNH3Ext.inf file so can you tell me if the effects are working without your ID being in AVoluteNH3Ext.inf file.
I have repackaged the Modded installer/extractor with the new ID's.

I installed this on my MSI GT72S 6QE with Windows build 1809. Nahimic 3 is working but theres no difference in sound when i change modes or turn effects off, also Realtek Audio Console says "doesn't support for this machine".
Is there any way to get the Audio Console working? Also in Device Manager, the device now shows as "Realtek(R) Audio" and driver version is 6.0.1.8117 even though I've installed 8564.
Edit : and yes my device ID is present in your modded version.
Edit 2: I installed the non repacked version of 8564, which did the same thing as the repacked. But then i went to device manager and clicked "roll back driver" which rolled it back to 8564 and now Realtek Audio Console is working but sound effects still not working on nahimic 3.
Edit 3: I updated to 8569 by adding ID to HDXMSI and nahimic 3 is working with sound effects. However, when i plug in my headset, Realtek Audio Console asks what device was plugged in, "Headphone, Front Out, S/PDIF". When i select Headphone, Nahimic still picks S/PDIF next to the effects on/off toggle at the top. Idk how much difference does that make.Last edited: Nov 16, 2018 -

Sounds like Microsoft decided to push the ASUS driver to you, i have had this issue in the past the simply way of fixing this issue is by copying this into notepad and saving it into a .reg file then running that said file and rebooting the system.
Disable:
Code:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate] "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings] "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001
Code:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate] "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings] "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000000
Now for your question Number 2, the difference between 8564 modded and 8564 modded repacked is one file which i modified extra but caused an issue with asm1 so i repacked the entire driver again without that file being modded.
Now i have noticed that you have mentioned there is a 8569 Version of the driver i shell have a look at that and test it and also well done on modding HDXMSI.inf .
However there are 3 files total that need modding with your ID for it to work correctly
HDXMSI.inf
HDX_MsiExt_AVO_RTK.inf
AVoluteNH3Ext.inf
Hope this helps. Time for my Meds now only just woke up like. I have also included .reg files within the attached .zip file to save you time.Attached Files:

Thanks for the registry files, i dont think i need them since windows is not auto updating now after i used the roll back option. The 8569 i downloaded only had HDXMSI in it, not the other 2. And i updated it from device manager itself without needing to reboot. The only problem i have now is nahimic shows S/PDIF even when i choose "headphones" in the Realtek Audio Console pop up when i plug mine in. IDK if nahimic should show a popup when i plug something in, but it doesnt show any when i tried the same without having Realtek Audio Console installed.

The S/PDIF bit is correct in Nahimic it does it on mine as well its to do with NH3ProductSettings.cab and touching that breaks Nahimic so its left as is. As for Nahimic popping up on mine sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't, after all its being used on hardware thats not supported.
Also as for Realtek Audio Console its normally always installed along side 3rd party audio software like Nahimic etc.
As for that driver yes its a UAD but normally it doesn't have the 3rd party addons as its a generic UAD driver strange. -
anyone like to mod the drivers for me?
