Hi, having a lot of trouble with this recently,
Not sure if it's what was causing lags and slowdown in some games like Tomb Raider, but aside from that I wasn't getting any sound in games like Tomb Raider and Dying Light. I've tried updating it to no avail, the only solution was to fully uninstall it and seems to have sorted some lags and audio is back on. I have an MSI GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro.
Any ideas how to fix Nahimic, or is it just best to keep it removed or is there really any benefit from it? I'm in the fast ring for windows update and I feel since the latest 3 or 4 updates there has been problems cropping up with sound and graphic drivers.

@willhub Only way to fix any issue with nahimic 2 is to keep it uninstalled.
I was excited when Nahimic said we would get version 3 (Which I tested using modded drivers because the GT72/80's device ID's was missing) and it worked well however Nahimic 2 users are not getting official upgrades to Nahimic 3 due to Microsoft's stringent requirements based on drivers.

I went into Windows > Services > Nahimic Service and set it to 'Disabled', then STOP the service.
The only reason I did this is, I couldn't find it to delete it!
Nothing in 'Programs and Features' is there anything to delete this monster.
Nowhere in C: is there a folder A-Volute or Nahimic, other than in Program Files there is 1 called A-Volute (Parent Company).
WHERE did you find how to delete this crap bloat out of your system? -

AGAIN ... It is not in 'Programs and Features'
Not the parent company 'A-Volute' or Nahimic.
Not in C except for 'ProgramData' there is A-Volute ...
Can't get rid of it through the Windows Store, but its there, so it tells me that its probably part of the Windows Bloatware, and I have to delete Realtek audio, then install generic Realtek without the Nahimic.
1 Question remains, how to prevent W10 from reinstalling that crap.
For now, for whomever reads this, it can be disabled and it will fix a lot of the problems you may have experienced.

What about Realtek HD Audio Driver? Try removing Realtek and see if Nahimic gets removed altogether. If this confirms the removal of Nahimic, then install either the latest version of Realtek driver to see if it can resolve the issue or not, or install a different flavor of Realtek driver package without Nahimic sub-component.
To prevent Windows Update to install driver automatically, please try the following.

"I have to delete Realtek audio, then install generic Realtek without the Nahimic"
Also, both the links you posted is for the older version of W10 and is obsolete information.
With the new version you DON"T have a choice as to what MS will DL yo your PC.
No more deciding what to install or not.
So, it still boils down to 'Stop MS from DLing Bloatware into the PC!"
I miss W7, if my previous PC didn't blow up I would still be on W7............

Still updates to Nahimic, its the #@%!&! Windows store wants to reinstall it.
Disabling it is the only way I have found to get rid of it. -
