The gt72 has never had optimus and it's true optimus and g-sync don't mix. However the gt72 can manually switch to the igp only with a reboot

Thanks for reply. I know gt72 doesnt have true optimus only manually switch. So Can we still use that manually switch for optimus on equipped with G-sync Msi GT-72?

That functionally should remain. Switching manually to use the intel HD graphics card is NOT optimus. Optimus is the functionality if having the dGPU routed through the iGPU and then automatically switching the load on the appropriate GPU.

The problem with optimus is that it limits the dgpu capabilities regarding refreshrate among other things. GT72 gives you dedicated usage for dGPU and iGPU so you can choose when to use whichever you need.

Optimus will be disabled while in igp mode obviously but otherwise it will be like the other g72 machines but with mobile g-sync in dedicated mode.
