    Hi,

Today I was playing a game for about 2 hours. Then the machine just shut down due to overheating. I checked the cpu temp with Coretemp and it showed 95 degrees C. This is not good at all. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do. The machine is 7 months old. I'm thinking about a notebook-cooler, but it's a little unpractical in my situation. Is there a fan speed controller or something for MSI? Is there anything else I can do? Maybe I should check it for dust?

Hey oskar, overheating is definately the culprit here! :D

So we can do these things to ensure it has plenty of cool air.

    Open the back hatch and,
Clean the fan, its worth taking off also as the heatsink grills also can trap alot of dust as the air vents out.

Re-apply the thermal paste (shouldn't need to though) and check that the heat sinks held down correctly, in some cases the heat sink may be alittle too high so make sure thats properly secured.

The notebook cooler wont do anything, and unfortunately we have access to no fan speed controllers, but if you need any help on taking the back door off your machine, im farely sure its basically a gt725 so i can post pictures that you can follow.

Hopefully we will have this all sorted soon enough, (chances are it is just dust.)

And remember that the primary intake is underneath the notebook, which unfortunately means we cant use it as a laptop for gaming unless we sit in strange ways hehe.
