I decided to start a new thread all about my MSI barebone and my overall review of it. Once I get the hard drive, I will complete a full review on this post. It will be constantly updated until I am satisfied with the final result. Anyways, below is what is available for now.

If there is anything at all you want me to add/comment on WITHOUT turning on my notebook as I don't have the hard drive yet, please leave a reply or shoot a PM.

    Brief Info
    System Specs
    P9500 2.53ghz 6mb L2 Cache 25w
    250gb 7200.3 7200rpm Seagate Hard Drive
    4GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 OCZ Sodimms
    WSXGA+ Matte Screen
Note: the lid and screen appears glossy because they still have their protectors on]

    Impressions

Keyboard: Shows a little flex upon high pressure, will not be a problem. Arrows keys are cramped. Will take some time to get used to.
Screen: High quality, with a bit of light bleed (refer to image below). Viewing angles are good. Samsung screen.
Chassis: Plastic, center (touchpad area) palmrest flexes upon pressure, but rest of it is fine
    GPU: It's a MXM :)
Overall Quality: Above average (judging from Best Buy trip)
Figure: Thin and light 15.4". One of the lighter ones out there. I can say the weight is comparable to that of the XPS M1530. I don't think it is 6.2lbs.
Touch sensitive buttons: Works very well :) Reacts instantly upon touch.
    Others:
    - All credits to Wasamandrapa
When I first started the computer, for a second, it made a really loud noise, but quickly quieted down to an inaudible volume.

    WOOT FIRST POST! :D

    Now to read it.. :D

Edit ** Doh! Need more info bro! :D

BTW, the GPU is MXM eh? I wonder why they have made such a stress that it is 'built-in'? Seems strange if it is just a module. That means it might support some GPUs in the future, but probably doubtful. Anyway, very cool none the less.

Well you have more guts than me. I wanted to make sure I got that full warranty from Xotic. I'll probably build my next desktop myself though.

If my GPU or Mobo blows up on me, I'm done for (after the 1 year). Hehe.. I am definitely taking a huge risk.
However, on the other hand, my hard drive has 5 years of warranty and my ram and lifetime warranty :)

After looking at the cooling method for this notebook, and the internals when you took off the cover. I have decided on what to get, your pics are great though sxusteven, and i thank you for finalizing my decision.

Total cost for me was about $1750. GST+PST was $203 (included in the $1750). That also includes shipping.

Hi, i was looking at my bios and it looks exactly the same except for the fact that the overclock function is not present. Can u post more pics of the bios, including what version its running and stuff?

Also, i read in some other thread that someone was able to turn their 'turbo' OC mode on like they would on a gx620 with a hidden button to the right of the ECO button. I also havent been able to do that, so maybe he's just the exception, but i would like to know the bios you're currently running (screenshots pls?) thanks

    No, I could OC too...
Press the space exactly between Eco and webcam. If Eco works for you, so should turbo.

Wow, so does that mean not all 1651 are the same then.
Maybe this is BIOS related stuff, perhaps you can compare the version?

You mean the Turbo? Check CPU-Z. When you hit the turbo space, it should show a wheel on fireish display

Cpu-z is best for that. In your bios, you can control the 15% or 20%

Nope, doesnt work for me. No fire turbo button shows up on the OSD, and i dont see the 15-20 percent OC option in the bios. I'm gonna try to do download the bios update from the gx620 page and see if that changes anything.

Does anyone know how to install the bios update?

I can make a bootable flash CD for ya if you want.

Can others with a "working hidding Turbo" provide BIOS version? I believe there are BIOS & EC.

Turbo doesn't light up. It's just hitting the invisible space xD right between eco and webcam
!@#$% for some reason, after bringing my laptop to school, turbo and eco failed. Because it sounds like a SCM problem, I reinstalled. Didn't work :(. Any solution?
