I haven't seen a lot of discussion on the MSI-1651 (or FORCE 3515 at Xotic PC) on the boards. I was just wondering what was the general concessus on those machines.

The one I am considering right now looks like this

    - 15.4" WSXGA+ "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1680x1050) `
    - Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
    - Standard Dead Pixel Policy
    - -Intel® P8600 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Duo 2.40GHz w/3MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 25 watt
    - 512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 9600M GT DDR3 DX10
    - - 4,096MB DDR2 800MHz KINGSTON HyperX Matched Kit
    - - Combo Dual Layer SuperMulti 8X DVDRW Drive w/ Software
    - - 250GB SATA 150 5400RPM Hard Drive
    - Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit

Just so you know, the XoticPC model number is 3551, not 3515. The 3515 in the titlebar is a typo, as can he seen here.

To be fair, the title of that thread is somewhat misleading. It might have started as discussion about the Barebones system, but it's diversified into talking about the 1651 in general.

Yeah, I am posting on my 15:3 from powernotebooks.com. Currently I've got ubuntu up and running minus sound and wireless. I've also been working on getting XP up and running and it turns out that a few of the drivers PNB sent me didn't install. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I just haven't had enough time this weekend to sit down and work on these things myself. Maybe I'll have more time to put into it tomorrow.
