So I just picked up 3 Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series MKNSSDAT120GB-DX mSATA 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series MKNSSDAT120GB-DX Solid State Drive - Newegg.com

For my GT60 20D, I iwl be removing the 128gb san disk and putting all three in raid 0! I cant wait to see the speeds they have gotten great reviews and are much faster then the san disk ssd that comes stock also.

Any comments on this move or any insight please let me know.

I am also considering changing the 470mq to the 4900 mq when I repaste the cpu and gpu, what are you guys thoughts?

You should notice a difference but it's most likely not going to be night and day. RAID 0 performance tends to make a bigger difference when you're dealing with large file reads/writes, such as encoding.

The 4900 MQ is a nice step up, though. The higher frequency and the extra cache should get you a bit of a performance bump. :) The two upgrades together, you should see some difference.

Well I just repasted the 4700mq and the 780m with ic diamond and I noticed about 5c lower temps, very happy with this.

    I also ordered two Kingston HyperX Plug n Play 8GB Kit 2133MHz DDR3 PC3-1700 Non-ECC CL12 SODIMM Notebook Memory KHX21S12P1K2/8

For 16 gb at 2133 and my 2 muchskin msata drives will be here tomorrow also, I am going to see how it feels with the raiid 0 and the new ram before I mess with the cpu.

Is there an xmp profile in bios for 2133?

I tunred my gt 60 20d into more of a beast then the gt70 dragon!

You will want 1.35V modules, the 1.5V 2133mhz modules will likely not work.

I called msi tech support they told me thath 1.5v will work fine however since there is no xmp option in bios he thinks they wil stil run at 1600,

Does anyone know of a great ram upgrade to increase performance over the stock 16gb in the GT60-2OD?

    Thank You
