anyone out there have an MSI MS-1012? i'm interested in purchasing one. it's either this, Dell 700m, or ASUS M5N. so far, Dell 700m seems to be one of the better ones.

so far just by looking at the specs, the MS-1012 has the new Sonoma chip, but no TV-out. the 700m has TV-out but the older Dothan chip. other than that, i haven't heard anyone owning a MSI notebook. :s

I'd put the Fujitsu s6240 or s2110 on your list as well.

so i went w/ the MS-1012, but the one i got doesn't have the bluetooth option. is there ANY possible way of adding bluetooth to my lappy? i'm hoping and assuming it's just a module that i can just add on. that would make my life so happy if it i can. from where i heard, i can't do it tho. just want to make sure tho.

also... anyone know if they could squeeze out more than 3.5hrs when running the lappy just on batteries?

You didn't get the 1012BT edition? I know you can still get the white or black 1012 without bluetooth, but the newer two-tone 1012 comes with bluetooth built-in.

You can't add bluetooth into the older 1012, except by external dongle.

I don't think you'll get much more than 3.5 hours on it.

nope. i got the regular 1012. :( dad ordered this for his client late last year and then the new bluetooth version came out. sigh. oh well. nothing i can do right? boo :(

i'm thinking of getting maybe a PCMCIA bluetooth adapter, that way i don't have a 5cm thing extending from the side of my laptop. lol

oh ya!!! another thing i wanted to point out, the speaker sound is incredibly low. is there any method of increasing the output from my teeny speakers? lol
