I found this newest (?) version of the CCC on the ATI website.. Installed it.. Nothing seemed to be different, except now I cannot access my computers network settings.

The Wifi signal indicator in the bottom right is frozen, and when I try to go to the "Network and Sharing Center" it simply freezes.

The weird thing is that it is still able to connect to the internet.

I uninstalled the 10.5 CCC and then installed the drivers/software that came on the MSI CD. I notice no difference between the two. The network issues are still present.

Could someone remind me which CCC/driver I should install?

    Thank you for any help

Well, I installed 10.5 and this hasn't happened to me. This probably isn't related to your graphics drivers.

Ok. I just unboxed my laptop four hours ago, so I haven't done much.

I've installed Google Chrome, Microsoft Zune, and then the new CCC...

    Now I have this problem.

So you didn't check if everything worked before installing the new CCC?

I did check. It did work until I installed the new CCC.

Upon installation, I restarted the computer. When it finished booting up, I noticed that the wifi icon was not reaching the "connected' graphic.

Did you turn on the WiFi adapter on the touch sensitive panel?

The touch sensitive Wifi button still works (it turns wifi on and off), but the icon in the bottom right is unaffected.

I did not uninitall the stock drivers. Should I do that now, then reinstall, to clean things up?

Update: I uninstalled the drivers/CCC, ran Driver Sweeper, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted again.. now it all seems to be working again.

    Thanks for the tips

Always remember to clean up before installing new drivers. Driver conflicts can be really troublesome.
Anyways cheers for a working system :)

Thanks. I didn't realize it could cause such issues.

Unrelated, but it is my thread, so..

With the new CCC 10.5 will sleep work? Powerplay? Etc?

    Thanks

sleep and powerplay seem fine so far. Vantage scores appear unchanged.

Does that mean I can skip updating the new vBIOS to enjoy a bugfree PowerPlay ? Or is the new vBIOS still required ?
    Thanks for your input.

Tried it with new vbios. Not sure about old one. Here's a suggestion: why not try it yourself? :D

I did quick test on it yesterday and I found that: Click.
Still I need more people to confirm it.
    Edit: Of course I'm not using 5870 ... :(

Genna would you mind trying the newer 8.74 drivers, lol, they are unofficial.

Sleep mode still doesn't work for me.

I have the old bios, new CCC

When it goes to black screen due to the sleep mode glitch, is there anything I can do other than shutting it off with the power button?

    Thanks

Silicon, I think that the only thing that ATI is trying to fix with this beta version is only related to HD 5xxx series. So why shoul we bother with them now?
