    It's not a tradition.
    GX623 and GX640 came with Mobility Radeon cards (GX623 with 4670 and GX640 with 5850). Before that GX620 and GX720 came with nVidia cards (nVidia GT9600M). It seems the card is not what defines X from GX series.
    Edit: Oh, I forgot GX660 and GX740 which also came with Mobility Radeon card (5870). Hm... I'm totaly confused now. :confused: :confused: :confused:
