Hi! I need a feedback Msi GS63VR + Razer Core. i need a nvidia quadro gpu for my projects and i would like also a really light laptop so i'm considering this msi. my doubt is about thunderbolt3 port speed. is there a full speed of 32g/s?

Why not buy a Dell Precision 5520? It's much better built, smaller, lighter, has double the battery life and a much better screen. It also works with the Core (at least somewhat)

thanks for your answer! i like very much dell but dell 5520 is a workstation based on xps 9560 with a gpu nvidia m1200 (like a gtx1050) and on that model thunderbolt3 port have a speed of 16g/s (not 32g/s :( ) and for this reason i'm watching for an msi+razer core.

Thing is - the GS63 doesn't have as good of a connection with the Core - while XPS users have gotten it sort of stable, MSI users have wildly varying reports - It's more likely to not work. And in addition, the Xeon in the Precision is more powerful than the CPU in the Ghost by about 5-7% and the Quadro is a cherry-picked chip for lower power draw and heat - with the professional parts of the GPU still intact, it's a perfect alternative. Not to mention the 97Wh battery can get you through 6-8 hours with ease whereas the GS63 can't even hit 4 hours

yes that is true, xeon is amazing! at last ces2017 msi presented an egpu, msi gus 2. that could be a good alternative? do you know when it will be purchasable?

I don't know but it will be around 400$ or so + a GPU which is quite a bit considering Quadros start 1000$ or so. It's simply overpriced for what you get when you can get a laptop with a quadro inside of it.

Rebrand of the GS63 but with a quadro - chassis still has a lot of flex due to the thinness and weight, the screen is average vs the XPS 15's high-end panel. the battery life is even worse somehow, not sure how they managed it but the WS63 only gets about 3-3.5 hours - that's roughly 30 minutes less. The software is still consumer software, not business-edition meaning it's less stable and hasn't been as thoroughly tested. I'd still get the XPS 15 over it.

so i could have three possibilities:
    -dell m5520 with m1200 +razer core + gpu desktop nvidia p3000
-dell xps 9560+razer core + gpu desktop nvidia p3000
    -dell m7520 with p2000

there is a new model, msi gs63 7re, with i7 and gtx1050ti. Do you know something?

The 1050 Ti model is the exact same machine but with a lower spec GPU - everything else is the same.

Honestly, I'd take the XPS or a Latitude if going with Dell. Or a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 - there is one on sale at the moment for 950$ Refurb on Lenovo's outlet - it has full warranty and a Quadro M2000M

ThinkPad Workstations are VERY high end alongside HP ZBooks and Dell Precisions - if 2.5kg is fine for you, it's a very solid machine with a quad-core CPU, Quadro and stellar keyboard.

in this topic on msi forum some infos about gs63+razer core
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=268967.0

my question : "hi! are there problems of compatibility between razer core and msi gs63vr 6rf or msi gs43vr?"

    the answer:
"Hey,If you are still bugged with this question, I can give you a positive answer. My friend has a razercore with razer stealth + msi GTX1080. I brought my GS63 to my friend today and test it with RazerCore. It works perfectly. I have been playing DOOM for like 3 hours, highest setting with FPS around 120 and up, without any flash out or other problem.

One tips for stable play using non-razer device with RazerCore. If you had any other discrete graphic driver (for me it's gtx1060), delete it. It will give you a more stable experience."

Derek Sallivan, the autor of ultrabookreview test on msi gs63/73, in a comment of the gs73vr talks about benchmarks of gs73vr+ razer core. In his tests benchmark are really good as for razer blade +core.

I was thinking to move to the gs63vr with gtx1070 but his review looks promising... I will keep my gs63vr and get an egpu +1080ti... If I travel to US this year...

Not sure i understand, but the above screenshot is with a 1080 hooked up over TB3 as an eGPU. Which is actually scoring higher than the desktop score you quoted.

i don't know. i'm searching to understand this test of a chinese guy :)

4883 is the score for egpu with gtx1080, 5142 should be the score of a pc desktop with gtx1080 (but i'm not sure)

did you have a gtx1080 or a sli with gtx980 in your clevo fot that score of 5238?
