Only 2gb of memory though. Quite weird. Adding two more makes it more expensive with regular pricing. However, general upgrades are way more economical overall; if you want to go with a 820qm, you ought to go with the Force rebrand for better pricing. Or just order the barebones.

If XoticPC wanted the price to make it look more attractive, they should have lowered the HDD capacity; not the RAM... 4gb RAM is a must for gaming running on a 64bit OS.

I don't believe that 4gb nonsense, i rarely find my ram above 2

    And ram is cheap anyway,

720qm is fine too and hdds are also cheap.

I was looking there too but i found this where i purchased my last 2 MSI notebooks. They have the same notebook up to a 920XM CPU and a 2nd day air 1 year warranty, and also a 3 year next day air warranty for minimal price and both with 24/7 tech support:

    http://www.rkcomputer.net/rkcnotebooks/index.php?l=product_detail&p=255

I also found benchmarks in their forum tonight for this model:

The only difference between the 2 is the HM vs PM chipset.

HM55 technically better as it can support more processors (i3 etc) and has some extra features.

No everyday usage difference in whichever you choose.

    Pre-configured : black & red
barebones. : black & grey , with the ability to use your own components.

    Go and do your homework.

And Stop with the 'overclocking hot key' in bold as there's none ... Is it that hard to digest ? Go and ask a reseller , there's many here on NBR.

I will wait a bit as there's still plenty of life left in the GT725 ;)
Clevo is calling my name though ! , whichever i choose , it will definitely has an Extreme CPU in it :D

Hopefully by the time i'm ready , there will be a crossfire setup for the 58** That will seal the deal for me

How about you ? You seems to be in the hunt , anything yet ?

    I'm in the same boat.
MSI and CLEVO for me too bro!
Personaly I'm leaning to a W860CU/NP8690 like you want to get a Xtreme CPU but I got a little time to wait too.
Big thing I'm waiting for is the i7-940XM which I've heard might be out in a few months and should a little faster but at the same price as a i7-920XM.
But waiting sucks...I'm getting the itch to get one now.
My second choice would be the GX640, only cause it's cheaper but still has almost the same performance as the 5870( I'd guess about 10%-15% slower)
I will have me a new laptop, question is can I save enough money for what I want. :p

Welcome to the club ;) The other thing i will consider is parts availability for upgrade (mainly GPU). How easy is it to get a GPU upgrade from sager/clevo ? As MSI won't sell any parts to customer ...

Hmmm 940xm , will it come in ES flavour ? :D
Don't forget , good things come to those who wait ;)

There are many resellers that will sell you parts( GPU,CPU,etc) RJTech is one of them and they have them just for CLEVO's.
So upgrading Is not a problem in that dept.
Lol.. As for ES 940XM, I'm sure when they are released we will see some for sale but don't you know it's illegal to have a ES CPU. ;)
