well all I can suggest is to open up the laptop and look for loose, broken parts.

Check memory dimms are still properly seated, as well as the CPU / GPU

Chances are the motherboard maybe damaged, but it may be an easy fix if you can locate it.

the only thing i can think to try is remove the hard drive, cd ROM, Wireless card, and try booting off one memory dimm at a time and test in each memory slot one dimm at a time.

Hmmm. There is probably problem with one capacitor under hdd. There is black foil under that there are 4 capacitors . One of them gives 00 (no communication beetween cpu and north bridge) on debuger ( hardware to test posts of notebook). You need to replace that capacitor. I will make photo tomorrow to show you which one need to be replaced. 1688 has problem with black screend when shock is too strong. Then hdd damages that capacitor.
So If you don`t want to solder it by yourself show this to service guy - perhaps he don`t even know how to fix that problem and he will tell you that you need new mainboard :).

15 seconds and it is done + 1 min of soldering and notebook back to live.
