My god, you didn't think that was an important piece of information??!?

Of course this is a hoarked PC--you unplugged your flash drive in the middle of a bios update

We've got people running spending days trying to help you, we've besmirched the reputation of another member, and you got stoned and pulled the flashdrive in the middle of a bios update.....

Well, odds are you're only hope is replacing the CMOS chip on the motherboard, but let me throw together a cd image for you ... do you know how to burn an iso image?

Not gonna work the bootblock of the cmos doesn't usually recognize drives other than floppy drives.
Try the AMI part of this guide: http://www.biosman.com/biosrecovery.html You are gooing to have to buy a usb floppy drive.

Hmm. well, it wouldn't hurt to try

    www.thecomputerparamedic.com/DOS622.iso

    download, burn as an iso.

Drop the CD in, start your computer, walk away for 10 minutes

    come back

    type

    r:
    press ENTER

    type
    c.bat
    press ENTER

Take your stoned butt outside until tomorrow (don't drive anywhere), come back, remove the cd, restart.

    Good luck

    Never flash a bios again.

it should probably go without saying, but....

this was created specifically for this case...doing this (if it works) on a different laptop will KILL your laptop just as if you were a stoner and did something idiotic like pulling the flash drive in the middle of bios update.

Heck, I'm of the opinion that most people should never flash their BIOS, but I am old school when it used to be dangerous to flash a bios cold stone sober.

Rule of thumb--unless a bios update specifically fixes an issue you are having, you should not update.

I did it to swap my ctrl with my fn key, and flashed my 9600m GT like 10 times. The 9600 flashing stops my heart every time.
