My new MSI S270(1013) has this annoying problem.
When it gets warm, the fan starts & stops continuously.![]()
In a window time of 10 seconds, it may start and stop even 3-4 times.
Finally after a bit of time the fan stays on for 30 seconds, then turns off for 30 seconds, and then the whole sequence again![]()
I've been using mobile meter to check the temperature...
When it's the 1st time it turns on, the fan threshold seems to be around 42°, and the temperature always ranges from 41 to 44...
After an hour or two of web browsing, the temp stays 48-52°, the fan keeps starting and stopping.
But the strange thing, is that every peak of cpu usage (i.e. moving a complex window, etc) makes the cpu temperature suddendly peak at 57-58 degrees and the fan, obviously, to start up!!!
I've not assembled my own 1013, I bought it idrectly from MSI in germany, so it's an "original" one.....
May be that the thermal paste isn't well spread??!!?!?
Do you know of similar behavior on your 1013's????
I've had an athlon XP that showed similar temp peaks when in use, and that was because of the badly-spread thermal paste!
thanks in advance!
p.s. the bios is the last updated one -- 6.70!!!
Msi 1013 Fan: on and off, on and off, on and off.... argh!!!
