has anyone tried, or does anyone have so i can try, the Falcon Northwest bios for their MS-1029 clone. Its the TL-2 model. They claim the memory and cpu timings are available in the bios. I'd like to be the judge of that.

    From the Falcon site:
    "Optimized and accessible BIOS
We don't hide your BIOS behind a graphic or limit your access to it. We tweak every system's BIOS settings individually to the very edge of performance - but not one step beyond (risking instability). That means maximum speed without crashing or graphics problems. And If you want to play with your settings to overclock... we give you the tools."

or does anyone know of any key combo that unlocks this functionality in the standard MSI issue code.

the question was, is MSI hiding anything, not falcon.

they claim on their website to have an enhanced bios. I didn't ask for a tutorial on how to flash a bios or why I would/wouldn't need to. Thanks for the advise though.

I highly doubt it as MSI has only recently gotten the MS-1029 stable (in most circumstances) using DDR400...forget about any "enhancements"

i personally think that the bios on the 1029 sucks. there are many basic features that should be there but aren't. i when compare the 1029 bios to the bios of a thinkpad t41, i can't believe the things that are lacking from the 1029 bios.
