The other day I noticed a nice red glow coming out of the headphone jack on my MS-1057. Do these laptops (or any other models) have optical out?

The specs and the docs don't mention anything about built-in optical out, but that red light is definitely looks like a TOSLINK light source.

Has anyone plugged in a 3.5mm minijack TOSLINK cable into their headphone jack to see if digital output works?

I finally got around to buying the toslink cable to test the optical out on the MS-1057 and I can confirm that the digital audio out works perfectly. When I plug it into my home theater receiver, it is able to decode DTS, AC3, and PCM audio coming out of the 1057 without any problems. :) I wonder why MSI doesn't advertise optical out on their website. Seems like a useful feature to me.

My 1022 has that as well. I really like it, the output to my digital receiver sounds great!! I thought it was pretty noteworthy as well. Not sure how many others include that feature.
