Heard that the gx740 i7 will take up to 16gb, will it take 1333? I've seen where some people say that they can only get it to see 1066? Havn't had the chance to take off the bottom cover so see how many slots it has but guessing 2?
So can I go for 2x8 of 1333? Is there anything that needs to be done in bios to get it to see the full 16gb?

You need a quad to run 1333mhz and the i7s quads will work with 8GB dimms or so I have read.

Thanks Meaker I have the quad core i7,if you get a chance does this look good?

Memory is a simple component upgrade, so be prepared for a challenge when taking on upgrading the GPU and screen. -
