I'm thinking of upgrading from the standard 667mhz 4GB DDR2 RAM, will my laptop support 2x4GB DDR3 RAM at 1066mhz? Perhaps same specs but DDR2 RAM?

No DDR3 support. 2x4GB DDR2 should be fine.
