Having used the MSI-1651 for awhile now, I am quite content, it has performed admirably. The only issue I have is the less than stellar screen brightness, it is starting to become more noticeable (especially when around people with other notebooks) and at times I wish it was brighter.

My question is this, has anyone found a method to make the screen brighter or would that even be possible?

    Thanks.

Yes the Matte are not that bright from what I hear, The one I have is glossy and bright but it is only 1280 x 800. They do sell 1680 x 1050 in glossy though..

So would I have to buy a whole new screen or can I somehow modify the current one to make it brighter?

    Thanks for the help.

no a whole new screen not really a way to modify a screen unless you want to start pulling it apart and replacing the ccfl which is NOT a easy task on these

K, thanks, I will look and see whether it is worth it to save for a new screen.
