If I use the Control Panel (using the system tools software provided by Nvidia), when I slide the shader/core/mem speeds, when do the effects take place? Do I have to restart the computer or go into the bios? Thanks for the help.

when I use this tool to overclock, it makes me test the new GPU clock when I go to apply changes and fails at even ONE mhz over 500. However, I can change the memory and shaders clock with no problem. Any ideas?

First thing, the only driver I've come across that will allow overclocking the core/shader/memory is 179.28. Otherwise, it will only allow you to overclock the shader. Once you hit Apply, the changed clock takes effect immediately. However, if you did not adjust the profile to load the OC settings every time the computer comes on, the OC is gone the next time you start up the computer, so don't forget to save the profile.
