Is it possible to control or increase the fan speed for the laptop? I have SpeedFan installed but it can not detect the fan, so I wasn't sure whether it was possible to control the speed of the fan for the MSI-1651.

I would have the same question pertaining to MS-1722. I get no fan speed readout in Speedfan 4.37

    Having Win XP Pro SP3

Does anyone has some info on controlling fan speed on models 1651 and 1722?

I ran 3D mark 03 just now. temperatures, idle 64 C, when benchmarking, I got up to 78C, when it dropped to around 70C, was oscilating, like 75C and lower. This is for 1722. No cooler for now.
78 C is a bit high, I thought to get faster fan speeds sooner than that.
    ------------
    Edit:
I did not say it, and it is probably confusing.
The temperatures pertain to GPU. The CPU temps are ok, it is the graphics chip that came pre-installed, and this might be a problem. I did not change anything, and now think about maybe checking if the GPU screws are tight enough. (nvidia 9600 GT)
    ------------
    And few more thoughts:
From temp observations of GPU, I noticed quite some changes in temperature depending on how much program stresses the chip and ambient temperature. Sometimes I get oscilations 72-74C, other time - cooler in the room - as low as 66-68C.
This might be also coz I decreased resolution from 1920x1200 to 1280x800. So in the first case it was like 75-78C compared to 70C avarage for lower res.
It look more normal this around 70C.
Anyway, setting larger res. and having faster fan speeds sooner is what I would like to have. So issue remains.

    Thank you Whitefro,
I edited my previous post. I guess it was confusing.
