Well, so far I have sucessfully installed Vista 32 bit on this little Wind, Ran a lot smoother than XP! I did encounter the wireless network card driver problem, after 1 and 1/2 days i finally got it to work. Installed passmark Beta performance test 7.0 and got a 344 score in OC mode. That's not to bad for a small machine. I also have an Alienware M9750 stock and got a score of 844. My vista score insn't too bad eighter, I don't know if anyone else have better scores? But here are mines in OC turbo mode!
Processor = 3.5 = OC@24% update bios in Turbo mode
Memory = 4.8 = Patriot Memory Aftermarket 2GB stick
Graphic = 4.4
Gaming Graphic = 2.8
Harddrive = 5.2 stock 120GB
Total was 2.8
But overall statisfied with what it can do for a MINI Laptop!
Games = War Craft 3 both series
Final fantasy 7 PC
Star Craft both series
I haven't tried any other games so not sure if the stock Video card can support it. Well, hope to hear all your thoughts!

I've been tempted to do this on my wind. I wonder how the Windows 7 beta runs. Great little device.
-
Just downloaded Windows 7 Beta! Going to try it and post back!
-
Nope! it won't work! The setup did a compatibility check and said that it's not compatible. Maybe it's the Atom Processor? But it wont let me install and cancled the setup.
-
That's odd, I've seen some people able to install and run 7 on the Wind. You are installing the 32 bit version correct?
-
I've installed Windows 7 on a U90. Works well. A little sluggish trying to run several programs because of a lack of RAM (only 512MB) but works well. Even Aero glass and the "Windows key + tab" is smooth.
Oh, the U90 is running at stock speeds. -

Also, TinyXP seems to have messed with my MBR but I'll save that discussion for another thread. -
I'm typing this on my Windows 7-touting MSI Wind!
Runs. Like. A. Champ. And this is just a beta of the Ultimate edition. I don't mean to sound overly optimistic, but Windows 7 looks like the real deal.
All I had to do was have Windows Update grab the wifi driver over ethernet. -
Let me know If anyone gets it to go with out any issues.
-
I also put Windows 7 on my wife's U100.
It runs very smooth and it's very nice.
But, after 2 day the problems begun: don't shut down, freezing....
So I put Vista Ultimate and it runs very good and no problems till now.
Just the signal of the wireless is very poor so I have to use an USB Wireless adapter.
MSI wind U100 and Vista thoughts!
