Anyone have experience buying MSI whitebook laptops? I'm really interested in the MSI 15.6 w/ gtx 660M but I don't know if the quality is good. The touchpad and touchpad buttons look rather annoying but otherwise looks like a solid well built laptop. Any opinions?

Also, does anyone know if a i7 3720QM would fit and work with this? I'm not finding much information on compatibility. Q77 vs Q67 chipset.

MSI whitebooks with GTX560M has been discontinued a while ago, the newer models comes with GTX6xx series and Blue LED backlit keyboard.
The diffrence with whitebook and branded models are the warranty and the exterior material.
3rd Gen Core i7 does not work on whitebook with GTX560M since the chipset is different. . -

Yep, it'll work perfectly.

Also, another question ... is the keyboard the same as the Steelseries keyboard offered in the GE60?
This is the one I purchased:

Not sure about that, but looking at the pictures it's probably the same one, just without the branding. Also my friend got an MSI which had the same chassis as mine (not sure about the model number, but it's last gen) and it had the same keyboard, just no SteelSeries sign on it.

The latest ones have a blue only backlit steelseries keyboard.

Oh, that sounds pretty nice. So theoretically we could have a backlit keyboard in a GE60 after a mobo change?

I was talking about the gt based barebones going on from gentech sorry.

Gahhh! So excited!
The video cards on these systems are soldered and not removable, is that correct? Wondering if I should have went for the GTX 670M for $150 more ... -
