Anyone have experience buying MSI whitebook laptops? I'm really interested in the MSI 15.6 w/ gtx 660M but I don't know if the quality is good. The touchpad and touchpad buttons look rather annoying but otherwise looks like a solid well built laptop. Any opinions?

Also, does anyone know if a i7 3720QM would fit and work with this? I'm not finding much information on compatibility. Q77 vs Q67 chipset.

MSI whitebooks with GTX560M has been discontinued a while ago, the newer models comes with GTX6xx series and Blue LED backlit keyboard.

The diffrence with whitebook and branded models are the warranty and the exterior material.

3rd Gen Core i7 does not work on whitebook with GTX560M since the chipset is different. .

Awesome. Thanks a lot. I'm excited to receive it. How do you guys like your touchpad and touchpad buttons? Do you like the laptop? I understand that the MSI GE60 is the same as the whitebook besides the cosmetic differences?

Not sure about that, but looking at the pictures it's probably the same one, just without the branding. Also my friend got an MSI which had the same chassis as mine (not sure about the model number, but it's last gen) and it had the same keyboard, just no SteelSeries sign on it.

Oh, that sounds pretty nice. So theoretically we could have a backlit keyboard in a GE60 after a mobo change? :p

    Gahhh! So excited!

The video cards on these systems are soldered and not removable, is that correct? Wondering if I should have went for the GTX 670M for $150 more ...

Non of the GE series and it's barebones supports backlit keyboard, no connector for the LED.

No it seems MSI want's to keep that a higher end feature on the GT series.
