    Hi. Read somewhere else on NBR that there was a MSI laptop that was supposed to come out with the Turion X2 processor and Nvidia graphics?

    Anyone got a lead/link/pics on this? Or did I just imagine it?

    this would be great.
    i've always preferred ATI gfx, but it would be nice, since i've been using linux lately, and ati drivers SUCK with linux.

    you are correct. But i was asking if there was a proposed laptop with these specs coming out soon.

    I hear you man. Thats why I included Nvidia as a criteria for my next laptop.

    well, msi seems to be the only one that releases amd chips with decent graphics solutions. i also have heard that amd is building a chipset for nvidia for their upcoming turion x2 release (don't know where i got this info from, though). i assume msi will be coming out with something, but don't know when and haven't seen any models.

    It's possible, they did testing on the x2 motherboards with both nvidia and ATI solutions, but it's still unknown what will be offered.

    The basic Nvidia/Intel and AMD/ATI still looks like the way MSI is going.

    i found MSI's time line
    states that there will be a Turion X2 + MXM Nvidia graphics coming out in July. Its called the MS-1042

    I wouldn't depend on the timeline or the specs off the old roadmap. The 1037 has already been advertised (17" dual core with MXM) but isn't coming anytime soon, although the specs look more solid than not, and I haven't seen anything (other than the roadmap) for the 1042 to indicate release date or final specs.
