Just got my s270 and I absolutely love this device. In my opinion it has just about all of the features I look for in a laptop. There's just one thing that's nagging me. I'm never to fond of using the "tap to click" feature of the touchpad but I noticed I can't deselect it in the synaptics software (and I've already tried different versions). I also noticed that most of the touchpad settings that I normally get from the synaptics software aren't displayed. Is this a problem with the touchpad hardware? I really don't need all of the other features, I just want "tap to click" disabled! Anyone with help/advise?

Bump
Hasn't anyone else noticed the limited synaptics options for the touchpad? I'm surprised that no has mentioned -
I noticed the limited synaptics options for the touchpad. I don't even install it anymore. Hopefully someone will help you to disable the tap feature.

SCSI,
Thanks for reconfirming, for a while there I thought I was dealing with an individual hardware fault on my unit. Now I suspect its quite a common issue of the 1013's, only it isn't noticed because most people as yourself are comfortable using the touchpad as is with the tap function enabled.
Too bad, there are many useful function in the synaptics software such as assigning functions for TP corners. -
Yes shure this drives me crazy as well, so i treid many drivers to disable "tap to click" I hate tap to click. after the search for about 1 week, I found the ELANTECH Touchpad (KTP3), install this driver, and you are happy again.
From Holland, bye bye. -
Samnetwork,
You are a Godsend, thank you very much! Now I can make the touchpad work the way I want it to. It raises a question though that the 1013 touchpad is actually elantech and NOT synaptics as advertised. -
Thank you matik for calling me a Godsend!
Are we the only 2 persons in the world who don't want to tap to click on the nice laptop S270?
MSI gives us wrong information about the synaptics touchpad drivers. You can really do nothing extra's with those drivers. All the features comes up with this ELANTECH driver. -
Just an update confirming our suspicions, I upgraded my hard drive today and was able to examine the touchpad chipset in the process. It is indeed an ELANTECH TP and not synaptics as we are made to believe.

Great information guys. Where is the link for driver? I can't seem to access the tech support page at elantech.com
