I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy the silver peice that runs across the top with all the touch sensors on, as you know the 1722 ID2 comes with the black panel with the touch sensors on it.
If you know where to get this part at please share. Thanks again to everyone who helps in the forums here at NBR.![]()

Well I don't know where to get it but I might get some details for the parts numbers.
-
That would be great. Thank you.
-
Part: 307- 723E212-Y31 Description: MS172x Black Hinge Cover
Part: E2Y-W050641-H48 Description: Cover Plastic
You might need this part as extra, its the touch sensor electric board.
Part: 607-1722A-010 Description: MS-1722A Sensor/B for Channel.
Please check with MSI if these parts are correct, this might be different per country. -

Please check the attached order form (2 pages) and I need your credit card information and the shipping method to complete the order.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Best Regards,
Tom Ho -
Here is my notebook with the touch sensor panel.
-
@nacr05
where did you find the spare part ?
thanks -
I found it through Tom Ho at MSI's sale department.
-
reparaqu do you have the part # for the 15" version of that panel??
-
Keep in mind the part numbers can be different, depending on the country where you are located. -
I wonder if your notebook model is ms-1722 ID1. It looks like you have upgraded ID1 model and I wonder how did you get these parts? Is touch sensor panel working fully including turbo option?
-
Correct, ID1 special black edition.
all buttons are working fine, and everything is running smooth. -
The part number for that touch sensor panel is:
307-722E211-H74, Black, Hinge Cover Assembly, $8.00 + S/H
This is directly from MSI.
Its works on both the 1722 ID1 and the 1722 ID2, they also make one for the 1651 aswell, not sure of the part number for that one though. -
Could you please advise the best way to order this part 307-722E211-H74 from MSI? I've tried to contact MSI Technical support by phone but they said I have to RMA the notebook if it's under warranty and they didn't want to process order for specific parts.
-
Use this email: [email protected]
Send him an email with that part # and he will get it for you. I ordered one yesturday. -
Overclocking and more blue lights ... perfect. -
-
-
I received these part numbers directly from MSI Europe (Location Netherlands):
Part: 307- 723E212-Y31 Description: MS172x Black Hinge Cover
Part: E2Y-W050641-H48 Description: Cover Plastic
And i have a list with al part numbers, with description and picture to make it clear what is what.
Please keep in mind, check my picture the part number i mentioned is for the complete touch sensitive unit i have installed. -
Touch sensitive panel.
Touch sensitive electric board
Hing cover black
Hing cover plastic
Then the top will look something like the GX720 (ID2 & ID3) or like my version. -
-
In the BOM list al parts made for the model you have are listed.
Depending on the model/type parts are detailed in category.
So please understand for the model ID2 & ID3 these parts are available, for the ID1 there is really no part because these bare bone/white box versions are not supporting ECO and Turbo mode or the touch sensitive panel. (MSI feature only)but it will work when you get all the correct parts.
-
SENSOR BOARD: 607-1651D-C10
HINGE COVER ASSY: 307-651E111-Y31 / 306-651E221-Y31
SENSOR BOARD CABLE: K1C-1012023-J36
These are the org part numbers, check with MSI to verify the part numbers.
As mentioned before these part numbers might change per location/country and or supported model. -
thank you very much
-
Thankyou RePaRaQu ... I really like the look and functionality you have achieved with your notebook. The 1722 is already an excellent machine, but the addition of the touchpad makes it even better.
Is there an online guide to removing the hinge cover?

http://my-msi.hit.bg/MS-1722Disassemble_SOP.pdf (starts at page 17) -
nacr05 can you post some pics on what parts you ordered and what part TY
-
The part is this: 307-722E211-H74, Black, Hinge Cover Assembly, Thats all I need to convert mine to a GX720 look alike.
Here's a pic of the touch sensor panel.
-
-
Should get it tomorrow. I will let you know.
-
could you also take a picture of it hehe.. im really confused on which is which
-
I've just received part# 307-722E211-H74, Black, Hinge Cover directly from MSI and it's regular MS-1722 ID1 hinge cover. The only difference from original (black and silver) that it's fully black. Notebook looks a little bit better but this is personal preference.
Does anybody know for sure the part number of Hinge Cover with touch sensors for MSI GX720? -
Okay here is my info.
I have the stock gray version, the upgrade black version and the custom version which will include 4 parts including black hinge cover which is needed to get the same feel and look as the org GX 720 version.
Check the post for the part numbers. -
Thanks RePaRaQu. I finally decided to email MSI request by using parts numbers you listed. If these parts numbers are in fact not the same in US and Europe they probably would tell me something about it in response.
-
This is email from MSI :
"We have 307-723E212-Y31, BLACK HINGE COVER ID3 (PRINTING RED)
We do not have E2Y-W050641-H48 and 607-1722A-010 in stock."
Any ideas how to get Part: 607-1722A-010 Description: MS-1722A Sensor/B for Channel in USA? -
If anybody interested MSI North America has ODD for MS-1722 with bezel ( Part# 957-1722E-001 ) for $75.00 + shipping.
-
For all that have the MS-1722 ID1 version i have 1 free Black Hinge Cover.
Normally the ID1 is delivered with the Gray Hinge Cover. -
(every time I post, notebookreview crashes, so here goes again)
Does part 307-722E211-H74 come with the transparent plastic in place? (I understand it doesn't actually have the buttons/circuit board) Or is it just a black cover like the stock silver one? -

-
Nice pic, thanks for posting it. The black does look better than the stock silver IMO.
I'd prefer to add the touch panel assembly if possible, anyone know the total cost for the 3/4 different parts? -
The problem is not the cost but availability. The most difficult to get is part # 607-1722A-010 Description: MS-1722A Sensor/B for Channel. To be able to order this from MSI you have to register MSI GX720 (not barebone MS-1722) with serial number. Without registration technical support of MSI is not going to talk to you.
-
Extra info, i know it's not allowed to place this in the section so don't point with any finger.
