Can't find any posts about MSI here... either that, or I can't search for 3 letter words.. :)

Can anyone point me to any MSI reviews? Are they worth looking at? That is, comparable to ASUS stuff like the W3V/M6V/V6V?

I don't know how well it compares with Asus, but it is regarded as one of the top motherboard manufacturers, up there with Asus.

I found 2 reviews so far, one on the M510C, and the other on the 1032 both have been very positive

Do you think the AMD Turion-based S270 heavy or light? Do you like the extended 8-cell battery? Which parts do you feel hot/warm when running at 100% speed at AC power?

I like the S270 very much but I am also looking a 1-lb lighter Acer TM 3002 model for its performace at such low price.

MSI may have not well established service structure in Europe. It's true. I don't know about the US. MSI 250 (based on Celeron, isn't it?) was one of their first laptop on the European market? Some people on the German forums were also complaining that they received their ordered laptops with great delays. Sure, some companies have expensive service and expensive laptops, some have almost no service and cheaper prices. One has to decide and try own luck. Thank you for your warning!

It is known that MSI 260 subnotebooks suffer from a loud fan problem.
It is claimed on a German forum that it is now solved:

Sorry, it's in German, and I don't have this notebook myself in order to have personal interest to follow the details and post them here. So, try to ask there in English or use on-line translation.
